KEVIN RUSH
(drums)
Kevin was born in Vancouver and has spent his lifetime working and playing in B.C. Canada. His first musical instruction was from Vancouver Symphony Orchestra drummer ‘The Great Montizambert’ at the age often. This gave him a foundation of rhythmic dance and drum rudiments, and his traditional grip on the sticks. He quickly moved to wearing headphones and playing along to vinyl records, influenced by John Bonham, Keith Moon, Ginger Baker, and Neil Peart, and soon after found some like minded musicians to play with. “My mother got us our first paying gig when I was fifteen” Kevin recalls, “and that got us out of the garage”. His main diet over the years has been hard rock and classic rock. Add a dash of classic country and a lot of time spent hanging out and playing in Vancouver’s ‘home of the blues’, the legendary Yale Hotel. With five decades of playing and recording under his belt, he is now the driving rhythm behind The Andrew Michael Blues Band.
